New research from the Arctic Research Centre, Aarhus University, shows that PCB (polychlorinated biphenyl) influences the mating success and population growth of polar bears.
Presently, the Arctic is experiencing temperatures that are well above the normal. Sea ice is disappearing at an alarming rate and the warming affects the entire climate – and thus living conditions – in Greenland. A new monitoring programme is to reveal the interactions between multiple complex processes and how the future may look like in Greenland and the rest of the Arctic.
